The second edition of the Dutch Mountainbike Summit will take place at the 29th of September. The event is organized by IMBA Europe's corporate member Tracks&Trails and national member NTFU , and supported by Specialized Europe and IMBA Europe. The Dutch Mountainbike Summit be be hosted at the Specialized Europe headquarter in 's-Heerenberg. The aim is to support volunteers through knowledge exchange in maintaining their MTB routes and bikeparks.
Partnerships is the theme of the 2018 ediition of the event. Partnerships are essential to get projects off the ground and to to develop future-proof trail management & maintenance models. During the summit, various speakers will tell you about the importance of working together and showcase their good examples of partnerships with field managers, the tourism sector and the bicycle industry.
What to expect?
Participants are divided into two groups by the organization. The first group will have the opportunity to have a morning ride on the mountain bike trails in the adjacent forest. There are about 40 new Specialized models ready for testing. The other group attends the various presentations in the morning. Groups will change after lunch so everybody will have the opportunity to squeeze a bike ride in during the day.
MTB Trails Awards
At the end of the day we conclude with a dinner and the presentation of the MTB Trail Awards. These annual awards for Dutch MTB routes are intended to confer recognition on volunteers and to create awareness for the considerable work that they do keep their local mountain bike routes in the best shape as possible.
