'Stibyggerskolen' 2018: Trails Rule!
We have never experienced greater interest in cycling, walking, running and riding on Norwegian trails. Combined with greater accessibility, longer season, new usage patterns and changed climate, the total load increases.
At Stibyggskolen 2018 (trail building school) you will learn the theory and practice behind sustainable trail development, as well as how we can continue to enjoy the positive effects of increased use without compromising the quality of future users and generations. The content is based on IMBA's guidelines for sustainable trail development and maintenance.
Teachers are Mark McClure and Gary Hampson. Both are highly experienced stewards and teachers, and have been working in Hallingdal since 2015. They have Jørgen Heje and Duane Butcher on their side. Both of them work as professionals on the Tråkk 'n' Roll trail development project since 2016. Most of the teaching takes place in English.
There is an open enrollment for the course. So whether you are a hiking enthusiast, mountain biker, landowner, municipal employee or private entrepreneur, you're welcome to join and we hope to see as many of you as possible. Trek 'n' Roll and partners cover most of the cost of this training course, so there's just a small participant fee for each participant to attend the trail building school.
