IMBA Europe joins the European Network of Outdoor Sports

After visiting the Nature & Sport Euro’Meet 2015 in Newcastle (NI), IMBA Europe decided to join ENOS. The European Network of Outdoor Sports represents outdoor sports at a European level. ENOS provides a network for the development, promotion, employment and management of outdoor sports across Europe. Other objectives include:Promoting the benefits of outdoor and adventure sports including physical and mental health and well-being, educational opportunities, economic development, European citizenship, environmental awareness and territorial development.Supporting the organisation and management of outdoor sports both on a national and transnational basis.Encouraging trans-national approaches to the recognition of leaders, instructors and coaches, to develop mobility and employment.Assisting initiatives that promote responsible and sustainable access and use of landscape, marine areas, habitats and eco-systemsIMBA Europe and ENOS representatives met earlier this year at IMBA’s summit in Ramatuelle, France. From that moment, ENOS has taken an advisory role in the Europe MTB Instructor-Guide project. The goal of this specific proejct is to create an European-wide qualification of Mountain Bike Instructor-guide with a clearly defined job description, qualification level and quality assurance process across Europe.As part of becoming a ENOS member, IMBA Europe signed the European Charter of Outdoor Sports which include 10 commitments for outdoor sports in Europe.
