IMBA joins Roamer Trail as ‘Purpose partner’

ROAMER TRAIL / RENDEZVOUS 01 KOROSKA-KARTNEN (SLOVENIA-AUSTRIA ALPS)

29 SEPT – 01 OCT 2023 (3 Days / 2 Nights)

Looking for your next purposeful adventure to kick those post-holiday blues? Then the newly launched ‘Roamer Trail’ is the multi-day mountain bike adventure for you! We’re looking forward to joining the first edition of ‘Roamer Trail’ as ‘Purpose Partner’ alongside our friends from Trash Free Trails.

During the 3 days our GM Mark Torsius will spend time on and off the bike connecting with fellow roamers discussing topics like trail access, environmental education/awareness and how to be more inclusive as a community.

What is ROAMER TRAIL?

Introducing ROAMER Koroška-Kärnten – a cross-border trail journey amongst the eastern edge lands of the European Alps.

ROAMER TRAIL / PURPOSE PARTNERS

As well as discovering and connecting with people and place, a third pillar of ROAMER is acting. We need to act, for our magical riding playgrounds and the communities at the heart of building and maintaining them. Each edition of ROAMER will see us partner with organisations that are working within this world of mountain biking – global purposes, local action. Both IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) and Trash Free Trails are doing great things in advocacy, so we’re happy to support them in getting more people on bikes and leaving as little trace as possible.

THE JOURNEY.

Over three days, you’ll earn your turns on hand-built singletrack, through abandoned mines and lush green forests, before railing the berms of the Austrian flow country. A multi-day mountain bike ride where we will explore the natural landscapes further, connect with fellow riders, and the locals that created a story of synergy between conservation and recreation here.

GLOBAL PURPOSE, LOCAL ACTION.

Nestled in the rural heartland of Koroška-Kärnten is a special village – Jamnica – where a group of local mountain bikers and guides have developed a trail network that has connected valleys, communities, and countries; ways of life. Jamnica is not just a tool for socio-economic benefit in a lesser-discovered piece of the European Alps, but a super story for the synergy between conservation and recreation; a place that you need to visit, and enjoy.
