Meet our Match Challenge!
8 November 2013

In our first year as a non-profit association, we can look back at a successful summer. We’ve met most of you at Eurobike or the Ride Mountain Bike Congress, conducted trail building schools in five European countries and we had our first experiences in Brussels where we applied for a EU grant. But that’s no reason to sit back. On the contrary, with the growth of our network our ambitions are growing too. That’s where the SRAM Cycling Fund comes in. SRAM is a long time supporter of IMBA and has challenged IMBA Europe to raise more support from the bicycle industry. SRAM already pitched in $50.000 and will match every dollar that comes in by $0.50 with a maximum of $50.000 by a double match. Specialized, Yakima Europe, Niner and Primal Wear Europe already embraced the challenge. When everyone gives a little, much more can be accomplished. Why is your support so important? It may feels a bit contradictory to collaborate with your competitors but in this case, it really isn’t. IMBA Europe spends your money on advocacy, trail building programs and brings mountain bike advocates and trail builders from all over Europe together to share their knowledge and experiences. We are here for the bigger goal, to grow the mountain bike community by putting more trails on the ground and lobby for funding opportunities and mountain bike friendly policies. Corporate donations are also important to secure EU funding. Grant applications are more likely to be rewarded when part of the budget is covered by a third party. What can I do? SRAM’s Match Challenge will expire this year. That’s why we ask you to donate to our Development Fund in 2013. Just follow the link and visit our Corporate Supporter page. Of course, we would like you to become a long time supporter of IMBA but one time donations are possible too. Support IMBA Europe and fuel our advocacy and trail building efforts!
