MTB Instructor-Guiding project moving forwards into 2019
18 March 2019

Last month, the CAPS-MTB project (Create a European Professional Standard for MTB instructor-guides) officially came to an end, reporting the key results and resources towards the Erasmus Programme office. The project is moving forwards into 2019 and activities are carried out by the European Organisation of Mountain Bike Instructor-Guides (EO-MTBing). During the project period of 24 months, the 7 partner organisations established a minimum European training standard for professionals, developed a train-the-trainer program for countries who do not yet have a training program and tested the first European exams. With three more organisations entering the scheme during the project, this leaves 8 national organisations at present. Another 7 organisations are in the process of joining so continuous growth is assured in 20919 and beyond. 2019 In 2019, the Danish Cycling Union will finish their trainer-the-trainer course which enables them to deliver their own national courses. During the IMBA Europe Summit in Silkeborg, Denmark, the EO-MTBing team will present the outcomes of the project to the general public and are available for meetings with organisations interested to implement the standard and training schemes in their own country. The next European exams are planned for the 3rd week of October and will take place in Jamnica, Slovenia, close to the Austrian border.
