The International Mountain Bicycling Association Europe is excited to announce that the 7th annual IMBA European MTB Summit will take place in Świeradów-Zdrój, Poland, from 22-24 May 2020.

Świeradów-Zdrój lies in the southwestern corner of Poland, on the border with Czech Republic and close to Germany. Świeradów-Zdrój is part of one of the most recognized trail networks in Europe, Singltrek pod Smrkem, perfect for beginner and advanced riders. The city itself is surrounded by the beautiful Izery Mountains.

Cooperation between bike communities, land managers and local governments is the overall theme for the 2020 Summit which will be hosted by POMBA. Like previous Summits, the formula of a plenary program with top keynote speakers, in-depth breakout sessions and workshops, alternated with field visits, guided rides and social activities will be continued.

IMBA Europe’s president Thomas Larsen Schmidt is delighted with the decision to have the 2020 Summit in Świeradów-Zdrój. ‘Poland is one of these relatively new countries where mountain biking is rapidly growing and trail projects popping up everywhere. We deliberately change the location of the MTB Summit each year to show various parts of Europe and not only the destinations everybody knows already. After the successful Summit in Silkeborg we’re eager to repeat that result and really looking forward to work with the enthusiastic team of POMBA to deliver another great European MTB Summit in May 2020.”

POMBA's president Michał Jurewicz is really looking forward to IMBA Europe Summit in Świeradów-Zdrój. ’We are grateful for the opportunity of hosting the Summit in 2020. We want to continue the tradition of informative lectures and workshops in combination with fun activities like in previous years. The Polish approach to MTB trail development is a little different from other European countries but also quite effective, so we want to share that. And the trail network around Świeradów-Zdrój is vast, so whole weekend will be packed with riding and fun bike events.'

The main venue of the 3-day event is the Cottonina Hotel & Mineral Spa Resort in Świeradów-Zdrój. Registration for the European MTB Summit will start end of January 2020 and include package deals with or without accommodation. Delegates from more than 20 countries are expected to join the event, representing mountain bike associations, trail building companies, municipalities, regional development & tourism agencies, forestry commissions and National Park offices. Program details and keynote speakers will soon be announced on www.imba-europe.org and www.pomba.pl and through our social media channels.
