The "Developing Intereuropean Resources for Trail builder Training (DIRTT)" project, funded under the ERASMUS+ programme, aims to develop an educational framework and professional training program for the mountain bike trail sector. The project brings together partners from Switzerland, Portugal, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Denmark and Norway. The official announcement and kick-off meeting of the project took place at the Trail Building Summit in Zermatt, September 2019.
Currently, a MTB trail sector survey is executed amongst stakeholderls in each project country and beyond through IMBA Europe's network. Edinburgh Napier University (Scotland) are leading on the initial needs analysis which has been designed to capture the training requirements of professionals and volunteers across the sectors of trail planning, design, construction, maintenance and management. This survey forms a crucial part of the analysis.
Organisations that operate in the domain of trail building, planning & design, management and maintenance of MTB / recreational trails are welcome to fill out this survey which will be open until the 20th of March 2020.
The next public meeting of the DIRTT project (EU reference group) is planned at the European MTB Summit in Swieradow-Zdor, Poland, 22-24 of May 2020. Don't want to miss any project updates? Join the DIRTT LinkedIn group
