Mark Torsius is the general manager of IMBA Europe and has experience as a developer, trainer, and researcher in four other Erasmus projects linked to mountain biking, the development of EU standards, training programs, environmental education and sustainability. He has overall responsibility for leading IMBA Europe’s day-to-days business, including IMBA ‘s annual European MTB summit, campaigns, MTB instructor/guide program, trail building schools and advocacy work at the EU level. Mark holds a master’s degree in Sports Policy & Sports Management.
Loren Rowney is IMBA Europe’s communication and projects officer with a background as professional road cyclist and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Ecology and Conservation biology. From year’s of working in the industry, Loren has developed her PR and marketing skills which is an asset to organising IMBA Europe’s campaigns and sponsorship leads. Her background in ecology and conservation biology is a major advantage in ensuring that the work we do meets today’s environmental sustainability criteria.
Hans Stoops is the advocacy officer at IMBA Europe, with a background of several years working as a project manager with responsibility for recreational cycling, mountain biking and cycling tourism at Cykelfrämjandet, the Swedish national cycling advocacy organisation. He has particular interest in spreading knowledge and understanding about sustainable outdoor recreation and infrastructure, and working with cross-disciplinary networks of stakeholders and interest groups to ensure better riding opportunities for cyclists of all backgrounds and skill levels.
