Our Vision

A thriving and equitable mountain bike community across Europe, where women are recognised, valued, and visible as experts, leaders, and key contributors.

Our Mission

  • The Women in Mountain Biking (WiMTB) network exists to connect, support, and amplify women who are working and volunteering across the European mountain biking sector.
  • We aim to strengthen the position of women not as emerging voices or outsiders, but as essential experts whose contributions are fundamental to the development and sustainability of the sport.
  • We promote visibility, equity, and representation — and act as a point of expertise and connection for the sector to engage with women’s knowledge, leadership, and lived experience.

Who We Represent

This network exists for women who are active in the mountain biking sector, including:

• Guides, instructors, and ride leaders
• Trail builders and advocacy workers
• Media, content creators, and communicators
• Researchers and academics
• Athletes and recreational riders
• Industry professionals and entrepreneurs

We champion gender equity while recognizing that women are not a single, homogeneous group. Every woman’s experience is shaped by intersecting identities, including race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, culture and faith.

While we are a network centred on women, we welcome connection, conversation and collaboration as we work towards a more inclusive mountain bike sector. We listen, learn and take meaningful action to increase visibility and break down barriers within the mountain biking community.

At WiMTB, we create a supportive, welcoming space for people working and volunteering in the mountain biking sector who live their lives as women.
