“Let’s get more people on bikes through sustainable mountain biking”

Take Care of Your Trails
TAKE ACTION, GIVE BACK
TCoYT is our annual campaign to encourage and promote volunteer based trail maintenance events across Europe. During the month of May, the campaign highlights all trail repair, clean-up and build efforts from trail crews and volunteers across Europe. The 2021 ‘covid’ edition of TCoYT resulted in 92 trail maintenance, building and clean-up events across 15 European countries. More than 1000 volunteers contributed about 6700 hours of trail work to keep their local trails in shape and make them litter free. A great result given the circumstances and extra precautions that many local groups had to take to make their events safe and corona proof.
As IMBA Europe, we see great value in running another campaign in 2022. As a dedicated community, we need to continue to move forward, and give back to the environment that allows us to enjoy our passion, mountain biking. From picking up trash on your local trails, to lending a hand on a ‘dig day’, all these actions help to maintain and secure the sustainability and future of mountain biking in our communities.

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day
WHAT IS TAKE A KID MOUNTAIN BIKING DAY?
IMBA’s Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day strives to encourage communities around the world to join together and ride mountain bikes with kids. Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) events range in size from a few kids and families to several hundred gathering at a local park or trailhead. IMBA clubs, chapters, national and affiliate members, retail shops, schools, scouts and community groups are encouraged to host events.
More than 100,000 youth have discovered and celebrated the joy of pedalling two wheels on dirt at TKMBD events, and many have gone on to become passionate riders, volunteer trail advocates and even elite mountain bike racers.
