IMBA Europe is looking for a member nominated board member- member-nominated does not mean that the candidate is a member of the board or staff of a member organisation, it means that the candidate is authorised to represent the organisation as such on the IMBA Europe Board.

The term of office is up to four years and may be renewed once. The board will review applications and can recommend a single candidate to the members, or their may be an election if there is more than one qualified candidate. We will discuss this with the applicants.
Profile
Candidates must have sufficient understanding of advocacy, policy, and land access issues related to mountain biking to guide other members and contribute to IMBA EU’s strategy development in these areas.
A suitable candidate will also have a personal commitment to the sustainability and accessibility of mountain biking together with some governance and management experience ideally in a non-profit, advocacy, sport, business or outdoor recreation context. Service on a similar committee such as a national or regional MTB association is an example.
As a voluntary role the position of board member is carried out on a part-time basis (monthly board meetings of 1 hour + two in-person meetings per year IMBA Europe Summit + in person board meeting) and can be flexed where needed around the candidate’s daily work or other activities. The IMBA-EU board is a highly collaborative group and anticipates that governance tasks and responsibilities will be re-allocated to reflect personal skills and availability of the combined board.
The board is also trying to improve its geographical and gender diversity, therefore we strongly encourage female candidates and/or those from member associations the South or East of Europe to seek nomination.
